UX Designer

We are looking for a student to join our UX team, who will contribute in helping us build a mature design system. In this role you will be actively involved from the very beginning of the design process until the end. You will directly see the results in the hands of our users.

UX is a key part of the company vision that shapes the future of how our customers, homeowners and Tradespeople, interact with our products to help crack the code in one of the last big industries to become digital-first.

The team is made up of design, product and front end engineering from Berlin, Amsterdam and Aix-en-Provence. The team you will join is responsible for amplifying design’s impact both by producing elements and by enabling product teams with what they need to improve products and user experience. They determine how the design system is structured, designed, managed, distributed, evolved and maintained with UX designers of the product teams.

By providing the Design System, we aim to create a shared understanding across different teams of how our interfaces should look like on different devices on web and mobile. We enable product teams to achieve the desired consistency and quality, improve brand-recognition and reduce the time it takes them to create high quality UX.

Your role includes the following:

- Contribute to and expand our Design System
- Design interfaces, components that create a motivating user experience for app and web
- Structure and document the design system
- Assist in creating contribution guidelines for UX designers
- Manage contributions ensuring quality, consistency and standards via review
- Share ideas, gather feedback and advocate for changes to the system when necessary
- Use UX metrics, user research insights, patterns to inform your design decisions
- Constantly improve the usability and user experience of all our digital touch points
- Plan UX/UI priorities with Product Managers
- Currently enrolled student (BA or MA) in Human Computer Interaction, Experience Design, Computer Science or other related field
- Strong ability to think out of the box and come up with innovative solutions
- Passion for learning and staying up to date with the latest design trends and technologies
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and knowledge of user interface design problem solving
- Confident working with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, or InVision (ideally Figma)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment
- Creative, open to learning new things and embracing diverse ideas
