Senior Property Expert

**Job Purpose/ Role**
Senior Property Expert in the Techncial Underwriting Center of Allianz Re.

The Technical Underwriting Center ensures aligned technical support to the transactional units of Allianz Re, acts as Center of Competence for outgoing reinsurance of the Group Companies and is part of the first level decision body for Group Referral in P+C business. Challenges include the balance between UW techncial expertise and business opportunities as well as the maintenance of sustainable underwriting expertise.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Develops and maintains market and client overviews with a strong Property focus
- Develops in-depths expertise and exploration of Property specific trends and developments
- Acts as entry point for day and day to day contact for Cyber (Re) Insurance in Allianz Re and represents Allianz Re in Cyber (Re) Insurance related activities
- Constantly monitors market developments for Cyber Insurance / Reinsurance
- Supporting the Allianz Re Cyber strategy execution and limit control
- Contributes to the analysis of multifaceted UW technical topics in order to develop solutions / options to contribute to Property strategy
- Contributes to reviews and underwriting file reviews at AZ Re risk carrier, hubs and OE
- Evaluates referrals for critical technical assessments as per Allianz Re Underwriting Guidelines and communicates and explains outcome
- Evaluates referrals for assessments and decisions mandated to AZ Re by the Group and communicates and explains outcome
- Evaluates referrals for assessments mandated to Allianz Re as Center of Competence and communicates and explains the outcome
- Contributes to trainings and knowhow transfers and facilitates trainings and know transfer for Property Insurance and Reinsurance
- Drives defined topics and projects with delegated responsibility
- Provides Consultancy on demand to the transactional units in CUO and CMO areas
- Represents AZ Re and AZ Group in front of internal and external stakeholders

**Qualification**:

- Thorough knowledge of reinsurance structures and wordings.
- Thorough knowledge of Property Underwriting with minimum in force Silver Accreditation achieved and maintained by proven track record of CDP participations and Gold Accreditation path minimum started
- Good Knowledge in Engineering Underwriting and completion of corresponding Academy training
- Good Knowledge of Cyber related underwriting topics
- Academic background in law, economics or insurance.
- Good MS-Office skills, excellent Excel skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, any other language (i.e. French, Spanish, Italian) is a plus.

**Experience & Key skills**
- Minimum 6 years of work experience in underwriting / broker function
- Proven track record of work experience in Property insurance Commercial / Corporate and Property Reinsurance with meaningful authority levels
- Proven track record of referral underwriting on senior level
- Proven track record of experience in developing of Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Grids
- Strong team player, client focused and with good communication skills.
- Results oriented and attention to detail, ability to prioritize.
- Strong cross-cultural and cross-functional skills.
- Strong proactive and pragmatic mind-set.
- Experience of working in an international environment, having studied or worked abroad is a plus.
