We are hiring our new
**EMEA Human Resources Director** (Europe/Middle East/Africa region) who will join the Global Talent department and focus on leading a regional team of HR professionals.
**What You Will Be Doing**:
- Plays a key leadership role in the EMEA region, acting as a partner to the Senior Vice President of EMEA and playing an active role on the European Leadership Team.
- Collaborates with senior leadership globally and in the region to understand the company goals and strategy and align the business through HR practices, programs and policies.
- Leads a distributed team of HR professionals across the region, overseeing run-the-business activities as well as transformational efforts to continuously improve and enhance our HR effectiveness and efficiency.
- Oversees labor relations and collaborations with Works Councils within the region. Working in a matrix organization, works closely with our Operations HR team across the EMEA region.
- Actively partners with our Global Talent Centers of Excellence to implement policies and programs in the region.
- Serves as part of the Global Talent Leadership Team representing the EMEA region. Harmonizes global standards with local needs.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with government and local employment laws and regulations in multiple countries; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
**Your Future Team**:
This is a senior-level manager role, reporting to the Vice President, Global Talent, that will lead a team of approximately 20 human resource professionals across several countries. This person will be based in our Learning and Innovation Center in Munich and will travel regularly to other Steelcase locations.
**Who You Are**:
- Proven experience of leading HR in Europe, preferably across multiple countries;
- Ability to set goals, develop strategies and timelines to achieve those goals. Must be able to prioritize, anticipate obstacles and define alternative strategies.
- Proven leadership experience in a matrixed global organization with a high level of influencing skills across the business.
- A balanced mix of strong business acumen, empathetic leadership, cultural intelligence, consultative skills and the ability to drive progress.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, make sound decisions and develop alternative courses of action.
- Leadership skills to advise senior executives and human resources staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and to represent the company to external audiences.
- Ability to facilitate change, be adaptable and agile, persuade and negotiate to reach acceptable compromises/solutions at all levels of the organization.
- Continuously seek innovative approaches to problems and opportunities.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Significant prior management experience in human resources functions required (5-10 years preferred).
