**Job purpose**
Lead market/ sector knowledge & strategy sub-function as the **Sector Head - E&M Projects **within the DHL Industrial projects group. Providing input to and leading the implementation of functional strategy to develop segment strategies and business plans, enhance effective performance of sector & industry management and support business growth objectives in line with overall industry and market needs, division strategy, objectives, group guidelines and policies
**Principle accountabilities**
- Define the market/ sector knowledge & strategy in line with overall business strategy, objectives, guidelines and policies for the division, works together with Global Sector Head team and Global Commercial Director.
- Responsible to agree and Manage Global MSAs and ensure needed escalation of challenging terms to the Global Commercial Director.
- Produce, coach and develop Global win plans for sector
- Take direct responsibility for early engagement on target project in order to appreciate what is takes to “win” and delivering the needed tender response. This can result in Global travel and taking a leading role in the provision of tender response i.e. direct input/write up.
- Knowledge of global E&M infrastructure and operating companies
- Proven successful sales/business development within sector.
- Set strategic direction and drive operational plans, measures and budgets to achieve defined results within sector & industry management
- Lead, organize and control highly strategic business activities and divisional initiatives within sector & industry management
- Proactively monitor industry intelligence and competitor activities, structure industry and market needs, develop segment strategies and business plans for the division
- Drive best-in-class business development, account management and sales activities for specific sector & industry
- Direct development of marketing plans, determine research priorities, recommend sales channels and provide direction around the nature of timing of product promotion
- Identify key trends in the sector/ industry, translate & ensure development of innovative solutions together with stakeholders
- Provide highest level of advice within sector & industry management to sub-function/function head counter parts globally
- Benchmark operations of sector & industry management against market, political/ regulatory positions and competition
- Steer innovation across sector & industry management, increasing effectiveness and efficiency
- Introduce and embed world class sector & industry management practices and knowledge sharing at the divisional level
- Analyze complex issues extensively and conceptualize improvements/ changes in sector & industry management processes, systems, products or services
- Deliver innovation that directly influence the way the division is operating and making money
- Global travel as opportunities, projects and client needs dictate
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Manages and drives performance of IP E&M Commercial development customer relationship management (CRM).
- Set & Execute DGF IP Global Strategy for sector, works collaboratively with the Global Commercial Director
- Helps to develop plans based on country and regional targets
- Steers and improves Sales performance through effective processes and performance measures
- Establish and implement strategies that have short to long-term (1-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with global and functional objectives
- Wins, retains and develops E&M customers-Global Growth and focus but with freedom to operate and secure business in any geography their clients operate in.
- Single point of contact for E&M within IP. Especially at corporate level.
- Ensure effective implementation handover to Operations
- Maintains network within DHL across other IP locations working with E&M companies.
- Hands-on working with regional countries and global to implement solutions
