The Opportunity
Do you have what it takes to create one of the best indoor scanning products of the world?
We are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our Design & Engineering team, who has a good understanding and passion for engineering and is enthusiastic about joining an innovative high-growth company.
We at NavVis design all our hardware products in-house. As a major innovator in the field of scanning and indoor digitization, good design and hands-on prototyping are a fundamental part of our ongoing product development process. Check out our way of working here
How you will make an impact
- You will get to know our products & in house production in detail, including the reasons and influencing factors of existing designs, engineering details and production steps etc.
- You will have the exciting opportunity to deliver your own projects from concept to functional product
- You will be deeply involved in understanding our customer needs, by supporting in field research & customer interviews, as well as ideating solutions
- You will have the crucial responsibility of building mock-ups & prototypes to test your ideas (sketching & prototyping from cardboard to 3D print)
- You will have the opportunity to problem-solve together with other designers, mechanical & electrical engineers
- You will have complete ownership of planning and managing your projects end to end
- You will get to define material, colors and shapes as well as detail design in CAD & renderings
- You will be at the forefront of building and testing our final product to improve next product generation
What will help you succeed in the role
- At least 2 years of hands-on, practical experience in a design environment
- A creative mindset with a passion for aesthetics and a self-structured way of working
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial/ Product Design or a related discipline
- Design thinking approach & process
- Rapid prototyping capability & experience
- Solid Adobe CC and CAD knowledge
- Excellent documentation and communciation skills in English
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Keyshot, Cura and/or Figma would be an added advantage
