W2 - University Professorship (f/m/d) in Natural Language Processing
The Department of Computer Science focuses on three strategic research directions: data science, domain-specific computing, and security.
To further strengthen the area of data science, we are looking for an excellent researcher in natural language processing.
We expect the ability and willingness to teach courses in data science within the degree programs of computer science and computer
engineering, as well as the willingness to participate in the academic self-administration, to teach courses in German as well as English, and
to develop digital teaching formats. Interest and experience in interdisciplinary cooperation are a plus.
Scientific qualification should be demonstrated by publications in internationally leading conferences and journals in natural language
processing. Moreover, we expect applicants to have experience with acquiring and conducting third-party funding projects, such as DFG
to participate in existing projects and research centers. Paderborn University offers several possibilities for that, such as the Software
Innovation Campus Paderborn (SICP), the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (HNI), and the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing (PC²).
With 15 interdisciplinary research institutions and participation in 8 collaborative research centers (5 in spokesperson function), 6 DFG
research groups, 8 graduate colleges and 14 DFG priority programs, Paderborn University is the ideal environment for implementing bold
research ideas. As the location of a national high-performance computing center, the university offers outstanding computing resources to
implement these ideas.
