To set up the Art Insurance segment, we are looking for you as Head of Underwriting (M/F/d) (leading expert) at the next possible time.
- You are an active member of the ARTE Generali management and central team, monitoring and planning the (international) underwriting activities of the business segment
- You trigger the profitable assumption of complex, open market risks, both for new business and renewal business and the active identification of opportunities to cross-sell products
- You implement underwriting strategy within risk limits and capital requirements
- You are responsible for achieving underwriting objectives through financial planning, market observation and trend analysis
- As process owner you define and control the KPIs of the underwriting processes
- You support international programmes by providing the necessary competencies and capacities
- You manage the delegation of underwriting authorities together with the ARTE Generali central team
- You structure, develop and optimise professional know-how by promoting the exchange of experience and an active transfer of knowledge within and outside your unit
- You are responsible for managing control processes (underwriting reviews, quality management, etc.)
- You adjust the development and management of technical know-how to national requirements
- You manage and take responsibility for resources in the area of risk engineering and loss prevention
- You contribute to the development of international best practices

Profil
- You have a degree, primarily in economics, engineering or law, or alternatively an art history degree with underwriting and insurance expertise
- You have many years of relevant professional experience in the context of art and HNWI insurance
- You have successfully demonstrated your strong underwriting technical capabilities
- You have a global view of the relevant market, the conditions on the German market are particularly familiar to you
- You have a strong understanding of product development, portfolio reporting and monitoring and accumulation control
- You are confident in the procedures of risk assessment, pricing and premium calculation
- You have knowledge on methods in reinsurance business
- You enjoy working in an international team, you are fluent in spoken and written English and willing to travel
