Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**: - Oversee implementation and modification of the Non-sensitive Internet Protocol Router (NIPR)/ Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) network architecture. - Develop Local Area Network (LAN)/ Community Area Network (CAN)/ Facility Area Network (FAN) operating procedures and policies. - Monitor operation of the network and ensures that hardware and software are functioning properly and that operation standards are met. - Analyze networking equipment, software, copper and fiber optic cables reliability and utilization reports for large, complex equipment and software systems to identify and correct problem areas and to establish telecommunications performance levels. - Perform in-depth analysis of automated and manual systems related to networks and/or telecommunications to accomplish design goals. - Establish test criteria to ensure network communications interoperability is tested for completeness and accuracy. - Develop documentation which includes required information such as functional descriptions, maintenance manuals, test and implementation plans, cost analysis, specification documents, and/or database feasibility studies. **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - Up to 10% Business Travel required - Selectee appointed to IA\IT positions must complete all DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program training and certification (baseline and computing environment (CE)) requirements within 6 months. - Sustainment training is required as needed to keep the IA\IT professional proficient in their job duties. All individuals performing technical functions are required to sign a Privileged-Level Access Agreement (PAA) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) - Position may be designated Emergency-Essential (E-E) in support of mobilization and wartime mission. If designated E-E, employee will be required to remain in the overseas position in the event of hostilities or mobilization until relieved. - E-E employees are required to undergo nuclear-biological and chemical training and to participate in readiness tests, mobilization, alerts, and field training exercises. - Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location. Prior to appointment to the position, employee will sign a statement agreeing to the E-E condition of employment. - Position may be designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency situations (natural/man-made) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations - See "Additional Information" section for additional requirements and Conditions of Employment. - Two year trial/probationary period may be required. - Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. - You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. - Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment. - The IT classification for this position is IT I.
