Supervisory Clinical Psychologist

**Duties**:
- Provide psychological and clinical consultation services to other professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Select, administer, score and interpret psychological tests.
- Plan, organize and assign work for and monitor accuracy of performed work by military and civilian personnel.
- Provide individual, couple, family and group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities.
- Formulate diagnostic impressions, treatment plans and recommendations utilizing test data and psycho-diagnostic interviews.

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

**Degree**: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes providing psychological counseling; assessing patients to determine an appropriate diagnosis; developing behavioral health treatment plans; and instructing others in technical, therapeutic or administrative matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
**License**:This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
This position may be scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at a date to be determined in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, Public Law 114-328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e., authority, direction, and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA.

- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- This is a Career Program (CP) 53 - Medical position.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
