Family Advocacy Program Educator

Position Summary:
The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Educator plays a vital role in supporting the Army Community Service (ACS) programs at IMCOM-Europe. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to the FAP Manager and functioning as the point of contact for family wellness promotion programs. The primary focus is on improving the health and well-being of Soldiers, Army Civilians, and their Families, and reducing instances of family violence, including child abuse, spouse abuse, child neglect, and child sexual abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical support resource and point of contact for the IMCOM-Europe FAP Manager.
- Ensure that every ACS Center in IMCOM-Europe has access to the necessary prevention and education resources as mandated by FAP Army Regulation AR 608-18, ACS regulation AR 608-1, and Medical Command Pamphlet 608-1.
- Independently manage and support various Family Advocacy related administrative functions, projects, and activities.
- Act as an Action Officer for issues impacting strategic directions for healthy and safe community environments and preventive services.
- Synchronize and support the execution of family wellness promotion programs.
- Review and standardize policies and procedures, provide command briefings, and facilitate provider training.
- Monitor, document, and follow up on all out-of-home child abuse/neglect cases; coordinate with IMCOM-E Child and Youth Services, Department of Defense Dependent Schools on Family Advocacy issues.
- Plan, promote, implement, facilitate, and coordinate Family Advocacy support to ensure efficient service delivery and avoid duplication.
- Track FAP related issues through garrison Community Health Promotion Council workgroups and the Commanders Readiness and Resiliency Council (CR2C).
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience working with organizations involved in child protection services or addressing spouse/domestic/intimate partner violence, such as women’s shelters.
- Experience with an organization like the Armed Forces Family Advocacy Program or Family and Children Services.
- Experience conducting professional trainings/briefings.
- Familiarity with military organizational structure and Army administrative/correspondence rules.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively in both oral and written formats to a variety of audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as required by the position.
Place of Performance:
The majority of the work will be performed at the government offices of the Army Community Service IMCOM-Europe located in the Wiesbaden Military Community on Clay Kaserne. Travel to other IMCOM-Europe locations will be required as per operational needs.
