Robotics Data Research Internship

**Role Overview**:
We are looking for highly motivated interns to join robotics data research team for a stealth Physical AI startup. You will work at the intersection of robotics, AI, and data science, helping build the next-generation data infrastructure for robots. Your work will directly impact the development of general-purpose robotics models and support the creation of real-world, standardized datasets. Please note that the internship is unpaid.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Research and evaluate open-source robotics datasets (e.g., OXE, DROID, Bridge, LeRobot, etc.) for quality, diversity, and usability.
- Standardize datasets into unified schema and annotate data for downstream robotics tasks.
- Assist in designing and executing protocols for collecting new real-world datasets across various environments and robot platforms.
- Identify gaps in existing datasets and contribute to synthetic data generation workflows.
- Collaborate with AI/robotics engineers to ensure datasets are usable for model training and testing.
- Document and maintain dataset metadata, collection protocols, and annotation standards.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with robotics concepts, sensors, and control systems.
- Experience with data annotation, dataset standardization, or data preprocessing.
- Programming experience (Python preferred) and familiarity with data manipulation libraries (NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Passion for robotics, AI, and solving real-world data challenges.
- Bonus: Experience with simulation tools (Isaac Gym, Gazebo), ROS, or synthetic data generation pipelines.
