**What you will be doing**

In the role of **Head of Procurement** you will be responsible for the following activities of the Bran+Luebbe product line:

- Direct responsibility for the tactical buying team (6 people) in Germany in close collaboration with our buying teams in China and the USA, which are serving our respective operations business in these countries.
- Matrix Manager for the strategic procurement activities of the product line.
- Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the central supply chain team and other departments.
- Monitor the situation and trends of the global supply markets and evaluate early signs of potential irregularities or short falls. Recommend and initiate needed activities to help assuring a stable supply chain.
- Create a strong vendor basis which is capable to support the business, and which allows for healthy growth of the brand in the future.
- Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain and logistics.
- Creation of forecasts and frame agreements, based on the SIOP process of the company.
- Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
- Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.
- Negotiate prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
- Participate as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
- Act as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
- Drive continuous improvements and optimization of work processes.

**What do you need**
- Successfully completed industrial or engineering degree
- Experience in leading tactical and strategic international teams in procurement desired
- Procurement professionals with first experience in managing people or ambitious to lead a team are welcome
- Experience in industrial environments desired. Experience in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical industry advantageous
- General knowledge of specifications and standards, preferably broad in all areas of the industry
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
- Analytical skills, organizational skills and a solution-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills
- Experienced handling of SAP and MS Office
