About your team:
The Investment Solutions and Services Business focuses on our core investment activities and expertise as well as our offers to professional clients and financial institutions. The ISS Legal and Compliance Team is supporting the business by providing practical advice and assistance on all relevant legal and regulatory matters as well as conduct rules.

Our team reviews and negotiates many different types of contracts and documents needed for our business activities.

These may include, for example, a multi-territorial distribution agreement with a bank that wants to make our funds available to their clients, an Investment Management Agreement with a pension fund that wants to appoint us as asset manager or an agreement with a broker or custodian for our investment activities. We also support projects and strategic initiatives such as Fusion, Sustainable Finance or Private Asset Classes. Last but not least we help the business in case we ever have a dispute with a client.

About your role:
A senior lawyer supporting the distribution business with a focus on the German workplace investment business. The position requires experience in drafting and negotiating fund distribution related agreements with appreciation of the regulatory environment. The successful person will be required to provide pro-active support to other members of the team as well as directly to the relevant business areas and colleagues in various European countries, in particular Germany.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Provide advice to senior business leader.
- Independently draft and negotiate agreements.

Fidelity’s lawyers are expected to be business-facing and customer-focused, while protecting the company against potential financial and reputational risks. The person will need to be able to cope with a varying work schedule, to work well within a team, and to be flexible when it comes to working to tight deadlines. The person will need to be confident dealing with people, have a flexible and commercial attitude, and excellent organisational skills.

About you:

- Qualified, commercially thinking lawyer with significant experience, ideally in-house in financial services or in private practice with a focus on investment management.
- Fluent German speaker. Very good demonstrable English language skills are essential.
- Technical knowledge of UK/European mutual fund products.
- Significant experience in investment fund distribution.
- Solid knowledge of corporate and general commercial law.
- Good drafting (in English and German language) and other legal skills.
- Ability to work and manage projects under minimum supervision.
- Positive, pro-active attitude suited to being a team member within a dynamic business environment
- Ideally experience in Investment Management agreements as well marketing/ distribution of alternative asset classes, such as real estate, private equity, private credit or crypto currencies.
