Within the GPO department, our team has various and diversified engagements within the reinsurance segment. We manage and reconcile various relationships within the companies of the group, take responsibilities for special and retroactive treaties and assess all relevant questions concerning accounting principles (IFRS, HGB & SII). Our objective is continuous improvement and optimization as well as conformity with accounting standards while permanently coordinating and involving the group-wide, international contacts and interfaces.

In this ever-changing environment, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Financial Accountant for our team for the company reconciliation and retrocession task to engage and add value to the following tasks:
**Your job**:

- Accompanying and participating in the ongoing stabilization of the accounting functionalities in the new environment of IFRS 17 / IFRS 9, especially for R/I held and Intercompany mirroring and processing, while simultaneously guaranteeing the necessary know-how transfer
- Actively supporting, driving and solving accounting related issues and questions comprising various topics in the accounting field (e.g. accounting principles, specific contract clauses, correct reporting and presentation of financial figures)
- Ensuring and reviewing the adequate set-up of the groupwide retrocession and intercompany functionalities and interfaces for consistency with the accounting process, while simultaneously guiding the team and legal entities in analyzing financial data, system or technical issues.
- Supporting and organizing timely closing activities and the team in generating and reconciling figures, including data preparation, monitoring and deviation analyses to ensure a straightforward intercompany and retrocession closing process along the system landscape
- Representing RIA and its interests in cross-team and departmental topics as well as working groups. Developing and managing the implementation of concepts and processes with the aim of continuously optimizing the accounting work environment to ensure and improve quality standards

**Your profile**:

- University degree preferably in finance, accounting, business administration or an equivalent education in the (re)insurance industry, or with several years of professional experience in the accounting environment
- Excellent accounting knowledge (IFRS, HGB, Solvency II) with focus on non-life reinsurance accounting including willingness to deal more intensively with the new standard IFRS 17
- Strong command of spoken and written English and German
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills, eagerness to tackle and illustrate complex issues
- High motivation and ability to work efficiently and independently as well as flexibility regarding time management
- Distinct ability to work in a team; convincing and confident appearance paired with diplomacy and intercultural skills in working constructively with colleagues and various interfaces
