**Your responsibilities**: This opening is for a Transportation Team Lead position in the Transportation Department in Discovery on 1st Shift, C Key. To accurately prrovide support for Transportation Operations by coordinating and monitoring the activities of a work group or cell. Ensures completion of work and customer requirements while complying with all company quality and safety processes. This Team Lead will be required to drive as needed based on business needs. Key Accountabilities for Team Lead: Oversee the assignments and proper completion of work activities of employees Act as the main point of contact for Operations in the absence of a Supervisor or Dispatcher Take Loads to Fremont to support Customer operations Conduct Safety Audits of our drivers at the Fremont plant and site yards Lead by example, be organized, and practice good housekeeping skills in all areas Conduct Yard Audits at assigned sites Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) daily for any unreported damages onsite and escalate Provide back-up coverage in various functions including but not limited to: Dispatching, training new hires, supervisor and department support, and/or driver support Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures Assist with coordinating start of shift activities and communication Report any policy or procedure violations to the Supervisor or Manager Participate, support, and comply with all health and safety policies, procedures, initiatives, and requirements. **Your profile**: Minimum Requirements: Active Class A license 1 or more years of driving experience High School diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of government regulations within the trucking industry, including but not limited to: DOT and FMSCA Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently Ability to follow instructions, follow through with assigned tasks, and communicate procedures and instruct others in a clear and precise manner Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies
