**The Position**:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative postdoctoral scientist to join the CNS Research department at Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach.
You will actively contribute to the development of new therapeutics to help improve the quality of life of patients suffering from psychiatric conditions. The Post-Doc project will involve investigating behavioural tests based on cutting-edge video tracking techniques and related analysis which will serve the drug discovery programs.
As a post-doc researcher at Boehringer Ingelheim, you will have access to outstanding resources in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, you will pursue original research and publish articles in prestigious journals and international scientific conferences.
**Tasks & responsibilities**:
- As an in vivo neuroscience Post Doc, you will be responsible for independently designing, setting up and executing behavioral experiments in a social context combined with pharmacology and with physiological readouts.
- To communicate your findings, you will explore innovative data analysis approaches and visualization tools.
- Furthermore, you will present at internal and external meetings and will publish your work in peer-reviewed journals.
- You will actively work within a stimulating environment as part of an interdisciplinary team of behavioural, cellular and molecular biologists, electrophysiologists, data scientists and pharmacologists.
- With your work, you will support the understanding of novel therapeutic concepts for psychiatric disorders, expand the current scientific knowledge and broaden the existing research portfolio and pipeline.
**Requirements**:
- PhD degree in Neuroscience or related fields with extensive knowledge of behavioral neuroscience methods and in vivo pharmacology
- Knowledge in Data science methods applied to quantify behaviour (e.g. video-tracked behavioral data) and programming competence in R, Matlab or Python
- Background knowledge in psychiatric disorders is preferred
- Demonstrated track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary drug discovery-oriented environment with is highly preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken English
