Senior Scientist

**Your Tasks and Responsibilities**:
You will strengthen our pre-clinical pharmacology & biomarker development team by contributing to the (pre-)clinical research and development of novel immune-checkpoint inhibitors and their further clinical development. As a group leader you will report to the department head. Your tasks will include:

- Leading an internal team of 2+ research associates
- Design, planning, monitoring, interpretation, and reporting of _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ pharmacology studies with biologics, mainly antibodies, internally, at CROs or with academic collaborators
- Identification and establishment of appropriate disease models based on expression data and target biology with a focus on myeloid and T cell tumor biology
- Reporting of experimental results to the department head as well as in (cross-) functional meetings within iOmx
- Expansion and maintenance of external collaboration partner network
- Become expert in the target biology/disease indication-relevant biology and pro-actively communicate any potential impact on iOmx programs
- Maintenance and continuous development of thorough technical/scientific knowledge in the relevant field
- Contribution to develop and support a sustainable target and project portfolio within the organization
- Operational tasks within the development department or company

**What we are looking for**:

- You are a passionate scientist and hold a PhD in immunology, biology, biochemistry, or related fields with 3+ years of experience as postdoctoral researcher or in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Track-record in leading and developing a team would be highly advantageous
- You have strong scientific expertise in the myeloid and T cell cancer immune checkpoint area
- You are proficient in the selection, planning, execution, and reporting of appropriate pre-clinical cellular or animal studies in the immune-oncology - a focus on myeloid biology would be advantageous
- You demonstrate profound knowledge and hands on experience in drug discovery and development, including flow cytometry or classical immunological assays
- Experience, interpretation and understanding of multifaceted, big data by bioinformatics analyses, such as tSNE or PCA would be advantageous
- Proven leadership skills as people leader as well as matrix organizations would be an asset
- You are lead author of peer-reviewed scientific publications
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English is required
- You are a highly motivated, flexible, creative and well-organized individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You are effective at working in collaborative and diverse teams
