**Overview of role**:
The Principal Scientist will represent Alvotech at scientific forums and work cross functionally with appropriate internal teams to collate internal data and develop scientific presentations/posters. The position involves work on weekends and will require some travel abroad (e.g. Iceland) for training or meetings.

**Scope and responsibility**:

- Work with Head of PIE Jülich to design and execute successful media/feed screening and optimization projects
- Be team lead and deputize for group head
- Advocate for DoE experimental design, setup and training
- Independent planning and execution of experimental work according to study plans
- Ensure media development team work according to Alvotech SOPs
- Data analysis, compilation, and presentation in group meetings
- Ensure that all written reports for media development team are completed on time
- Write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs), execution of equipment (re-) qualifications, handling of deviations, CAPAs and change controls
- Modify and improve current in-house cell culture media formulations
- Ensure media development team complete lab duties

**Job requirements**:

- Preferably PhD but at minimum a master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline
- Minimum five years of scientific or industry experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry)
- Strong background in cell culture metabolism
