At our subsidiary in Göttingen, the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

Scientific Programmer (all genders)

full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:
- Use your creativity to find solutions to yet unsolved scientific and technical challenges- Work with researchers in interdisciplinary project teams in multiple research programs

Your ideal qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related field- Strong programming skills in R, ideally experience with package development and Shiny apps- Experience in web platform development (e.g. JavaScript, D3, WebGL) and other programming languages (e.g. Python) is a plus- Knowledge of software development methodology (version control, testing, documentation)- Proficiency in working with bioinformatics tools and understanding of common algorithms- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment- Fluency in English
