Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**: - Develop the NEC?s COMSEC policy and coordinates approval of supplemental regulations and guidance. - Prepare and maintains the accreditation of the Key Management Infrastructure/Management Client (KMI/MGC) and COMSEC Accounting Registration System (CARS) and submits requests for accreditation to the authority. - Provide cybersecurity analytical, technical, and documentation support to NEC for supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) RMF. - Responsible for the planning, managing, implementation, and assessment of all cybersecurity related compliance to ensure mission partners complete and sustain their cybersecurity posture. - Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, protection needs, and determines effective corrective measures. - Assist in the review and evaluation of existing software and procedures. - Evaluate, monitor, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures. **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. - Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. - Two year trial/probationary period may be required. - Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. - This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. - Required to maintain military and states side driver's license. - This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty. - Required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays - See "Additional Information/Qualification" section for additional requirements and Conditions of Employment **Qualifications**: **Who May Apply: US Citizens**Basic Requirement for** **IT Specialist (INFOSEC)**: **Specialized and Other Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and evaluating the security impact of system changes; developing local plans, policies, or practices necessary to provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of hardware and software security; and recommending corrective actions for system deficiencies or vulnerabilities.
