Tasks
In your role as an Advanced Purchaser (M/F/diverse) you are Purchasing representative in the quote
- and project team from the acquisition phase to project SOP and responsible for all material specific topics, in detail for.

These will be your exciting tasks and responsibilities in detail:
Commercial evaluation of the Bill of Material (BOM) for all specific products of Business Area AN

Calculation of Bill-of-Material (BOM) in quote and development phase

**Responsible for material target achievement**: tracking of actual BOM costs versus award BOM (PCIS), definition of countermeasures together with project team and escalation to management of supplier, Category and Segment Management

Supporting cost-optimization-concepts in quote and project team for securing commercial targets during development by using technology and supplier benchmark activities and seeking for innovative and competitive supplier ideas

Implementing and transferring Continental's material strategy into project life as interacting contact partner of project team with Category Purchasing

Continuous exchange and alignment of business are strategy with supplier and material strategy with Category Purchasing and Central Engineering (i.e. maximize project profitability through utmost realization of supplier strategies, competitive supplier choice and material strategy)

Defining and controlling supplier pending project milestones and steering countermeasures with early escalation towards suppliers (actively including relevant suppliers in all development steps)

Securing usage of latest material components in BOM (Component Review Meetings) for best competitiveness and material supply

Actively driving sourcing process

Actively supporting cost reduction programs for specific products after SOP by introduction of new components and/or suppliers (re-design to cost)

**Qualifications**:
Academic degree in business administration, engineering or similar field of studies

Multiple years of experience in Purchasing or related area, including Project Management experience

Procurement process and Product Life Cycle (PLC) knowledge, including standards of quality system requirements, policies and norms (IATF 19649/ VDA 6.1) as well as knowledge in contract law and risk management

Technical understanding of specific components and automotive requirements

Management skills, tools and techniques which ensures a strategic, profit and resulted oriented handling (Benchmarking, Presentation, etc.)

Business-fluent German and English language skills (spoken and written)

Open-minded team player with good networking skills

Very good communication, presentation and negotiation skills in an international context

Problem-solving skills and decision-making tools and techniques
