Senior System Architect

The Smart Cabin Senior System Architect will report into the UX UI & Digitalization team, which is part of Yanfeng Technology (YFT).

This team focuses, besides UI & functional Prototyping, on building up expertise in the areas of User Experience Design and System Engineering to incubate the digitalization of workflows.

The Smart Cabin Senior System Architect’s purpose is to support YFT with System Engineering principles by establishing a system thinking mindset and incubate System Engineering by demonstrating the added value of it.

**Responsibilities**:

- Translate the UX specifications into operational scenarios
- Identify the main functions that support the value proposition
- Partition of the main functions into technical functions to be allocated to the breakdown elements of the systems: from products up to disciplines (e.g. Mechanics, Optics, Thermal, Kinematics, Hardware, Software)
- Conduct trade-off analysis to:

- Select the technologies that support the value proposition and the Business Model
- Define make/buy/reuse strategies
- Foster Design to Cost approaches
- Support System Behavior simulation & Digital Mockup development by defining executable system models
- Deliver a “RFQ ready” System Architectural Design, part of the definition file of the pre-developed systems and highlight gaps and risks to be handled by customer projects, within Products Business Units, during RFI and RFQ phases
- Support the Requirement Engineers to use the system architecture as framework for writing the requirements from the system level up to the allocation of requirements to the disciplines
- Participate to the estimation of system design and implementation workload
- Support the Project Manager in the capitalization of lessons-learned and continuous improvement of system technical solutions and processes
- Support Customer Business Units during the RFQ phase and the start of customer project to handover the system architecture

Main tasks
- Work closely with User Experience Designers to elicit user requirements and translate UX specifications into the system definition
- Facilitate workshops with disciplines to define and update:

- The Hardware to Software Interface
- The Hardware to Mechanical Interface (incl. opto-mechanical setup)
- Structure and present results tailored to different audiences (Design Team, Engineers, Management, OEM customer)
- Participate in regular team and project meetings
- Business travel to other Yanfeng locations, customers, conferences and shows

**Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in systems engineering, electronics or computer science
- 7+ years of experience in System engineering & development, ideally in the automotive industry

Professional Experience & technical skills
- Experience in complex systems (automotive, transportation, embedded systems with sensor/algo/actuator) is a plus
- Experience utilizing SysML model authoring tools and associated model management capabilities (e.g. Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rational Rhapsody )
- Experience utilizing requirements database tools (e.g. DOORS, Jama..)
- Knowledge in system development & associated process (Automotive SPICE)
- Good analytical skills balanced with a system thinking mindset: strong ability to synthesize complexity
