The Real Estate and Facilities Management (REFM) Department is responsible for eight sites across Europe, with a total of approximately 250,000sqm of working space as well as technical facilities, and a population of over 7,000 staff and contractors.
- ESOC is Europe's centre of excellence for satellite operation and hosting ESA's mission control. It is home to the engineering teams that control spacecraft in orbit, manage the Agency’s Space Safety programme and ESA’s global tracking station network. Since 1967, more than 85 satellites belonging to ESA and its partners have been successfully flown. The site has a population of over 900 staff and contractors. ESOC is located near the main train station in Darmstadt, Germany.
The REFM Department is responsible for managing a variety of contracted Facility Management services. It delivers the strategic oversight of the site in a wide variety of domains: people management, compliance, crisis management and business continuity, maintenance and operations, safety and security, asset management, capital and operating planning and expenditure.
- The Accelarated Investment Project for ESOC Team is responsible for a huge evolution of site over the next 6 years with the construction of one new building, modernization of two buildings and demolition of three buildings.

Are you studying project management, facilities management or civil engineering? This internship offers hands-on experience in managing complex projects and maintenance requirements

- As an intern, you will:

- assist in the planning and coordination of new constructions, modernisations and demolition of buildings.
- support the review and preparation of all project management relevant documents.
- help monitor compliance with quality, sustainability, and construction standards.
- contribute to project communication REFM internal and with other Directorates.
- participate in site inspections and reporting on infrastructure conditions.
- collaborate with internal teams and external contractors.

-You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level. In addition, you must be able to prove that you will be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.-
** Additional requirements**-
-The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.-
