At Fraunhofer-Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS, we work at the highest international level on nanoelectronic, mechanical and optical components and their integration into tiny, "intelligent" devices and systems. New electronic components are being developed at the Fraunhofer IPMS, in the business unit of IoT Components and Systems. Extensive device characterization is needed for these electronic components. The efficient preparation of data is crucial for short learning cycles. **What you will do** - Getting to know our technologies and infrastructure - Setting up an experimental plan together in a team - Detailed electrical characterization in the electrical lab - Data processing with a dedicated Python Program - Plotting and data visualization in Python or a similar visualization software (e.g Origin) In addition, it is possible to write a** Bachelor's or Diploma/Master's thesis** in our research group. **What you bring to the table** - Started studies in electrical engineering or in a similar field of studies in physics or nanotechnology - Basic electrical/ semiconductor/ material science knowledge - Passion for technological topics and interest in getting involved in the field of semiconductor technology - Enthusiasm for working in a team as well as commitment, reliability, a goal-oriented and structured way of working - Very good set of communication skills in English and ideally also in German - Willingness be on site at our location in Dresden - Dream addition: firsthand experience with an electrical probe station **What you can expect** We offer you an exciting task and valuable insights into the methods and procedures of a modern high-tech research institute. We support you in this process This position is at IPMS in Dresden and it is necessary to be on site for working in the lab. The weekly working time 20 hours and is to be coordinated flexibly. The position is initially for 6 months. A long-term collaboration is possible. Remuneration according to the general works agreement for employing assistant staff.
