Joining the **Process Technology Development** department of E&T, you will be part of the team which explores pioneering processes and technologies together with research, development, and manufacturing at Bayer worldwide. We are at the forefront of life science industry digitalization. With our scientific expertise and innovation strength we drive the development of economically and ecologically sustainable solutions. To achieve this, we combine the expert knowledge of people with different professional backgrounds in diverse teams together with our academic partners.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- You partner and collaborate globally with internal divisional and corporate stakeholders as well as external partners, identify opportunities and technology innovation potential for Bayer and align priorities with divisional partners
- You lead and develop an interdisciplinary team of scientists to their maximum potential while working in close exchange and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Bayer’s divisions
- You scout and evaluate external expertise in relevant fields to be able to meet future challenges and manufacturing demands as well as establish regular contact and communication with external networks (such as universities, knowledge communities, etc.)
- You contribute to Bayer’s divisions with technical excellence and by fostering an inclusive and cross-functional culture while taking responsibility for innovation in line with Bayer’s vision
- You set strategic and operational goals for the unit, and you are accountable for the budget

**WHO YOU ARE**

We are excited about your talent and passion for the position Head of Biotechnology (f/d/m). Attracting the right talent is important to us. We would be happy to identify and shape the career and development opportunities you are looking for together with you, **also on a part-time basis (min 80%).**
- You hold a PhD and bring business experience in biotechnology or related natural science discipline (e.g., bioprocess engineering, biochemistry, biotransformation, etc.) or you have an equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have many years of industrial work experience with broad knowledge of bioprocess optimization in different scales and you have a solid business acumen with expertise in strategic business planning and negotiation
- You are familiar with the Pharma and/or Crop Science businesses, ideally products and value drivers in biotechnology
- You exhibit strong leadership and management skills and high integrity with a proven track record in leading and developing an expert team with members who have leading positions themselves
- Your solid experience with project management and stakeholder engagement is combined with an excellent reputation and broad network to academic and industrial partners in biotechnology
- Your drive for innovation and complex problem-solving skills are complemented by your strong communication, collaboration, and networking skills
- You speak and write fluent English and German

We use the possibilities of hybrid working flexibly. In order to experience community and collaboration, **we are on site at least 3 days per week**.
