suena, short for **su**stainable **en**ergy **a**pplications, is a green tech startup specializing on energy trading software for Energy Storage Systems. The focus lies on maximizing profits and reducing risks on short-term electricity and balancing markets for grid-scale energy storage asset owners through our AI-based optimization and trading software.
As a member of our Finance team you will oversee accounting operations and financial planning, contributing to the financial stability and growth of our organization. As we scale up, we need someone with a strong financial operations background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to guide and support both internal and external financial stakeholders. We expect you to maintain a regular presence in **our Hamburg office**, while also taking advantage of hybrid work options.
**What you will be doing**:
- Implement financial planning strategies to support the company's goals
- Develop and lead financial controlling activities
- Analyze monthly financial numbers against budget and forecast, translate the results into actionable insights
- Creation and administration of customer and partner invoice processes especially for our power trading operations
- Handle financial reporting internally and our investors, ensure financial data are up-to-date, accurate and compliant
- Develop and monitor budgets, providing insights on discrepancies
- Assist product management and sales in developing pricing strategies and business models
- Implement KPIs for the financial processes, ensure performance is on track against targets
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years of experience in the financial field
- Proven experience in developing financial controlling, reporting and financial planning strategies
- Exceptional competence in Excel
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of financial management
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy and deadline-driven approach
- **Full German and English proficiency**, both written and verbal
- Experience of working within a startup environment is an advantage
- Proficiency in financial management tools is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external accountants, and stakeholders
