The American Red Cross is currently interviewing to hire an SAF Contingency Operations Director to lead the Service to the Armed Forces programs at forward-deployed US military sites. This full-time position, which will be based in Wiesbaden, Germany, is part of the mobile staff. Mobile positions require maintaining strict medical and security clearances for worldwide deployment, as needed.

This is a term-limited, benefits-eligible position expected to last 24 months from the date of hire, with the opportunity to extend based on business needs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The SAF Contingency Operations Director leads a time of deployed staff across multiple countries and time zones. The Director serves as the American Red Cross (ARC) plans and operations officer for all personnel support functions within the directorate cell. Maintains current knowledge of all ARC regulations, policies, and procedures. Analyzes directives from higher headquarters, identifies objectives and resources, and formulates plans based on personal research and technical input from the staff and other offices and agencies. Represents ARC's interests at active military, reserve component, and civilian agency meetings.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:
50% - American Red Cross deployment leadership and operations management:

- Leads a large team of Red Cross staff members who are deployed across several countries and multiple time zones.
- Serves as the ARC representative in installation deployment and other installation contingency support planning, in-progress review and after-action meetings under exercise and actual conditions.
- Reviews and revises the sections of the USAREUR/IMCOM-E Readiness SOP applicable to the ARC deployment support requirements.
- Provides Financial Management for the deployment sites budget.
- During crises, coordinates for Red Cross support with EUCOM, USAREUR/IMCOM-E and the military services.
- Supports the OCONUS Red Cross regions in the preparation and updating of the ARC sections of the USAREUR Combating Terrorism Contingency Plan, Disaster Preparedness Plan, the installation Evacuation/Repatriation Plan for non-combatants, and the installation Emergency Operations Center SOP relating to Ukraine Operation.
- Participates in all inbound teams' orientations and in-processing.
- Keeps the ARC informed of the overall situation and ARC tasks evolving from the emergency.

30% - installation mobilization planning and processing:

- Represents the ARC in installation mobilization planning, in-progress review, and after-action meetings for scheduled semi-annual through 5-year recurring exercises and in actual conditions.
- Coordinates the provision of ARC requirements and provides direct support as needed.
- Ensures that all unit rosters are updated, communicated to the HCC and inbound units communicated to the Division Directors.
- Monitors, provides guidance, and participates in mobilization preparation of family members and the preparation of standing operating procedures, essential forms, and documents of Reserve Component units throughout the area of operation.
- Serves as the ARC action officer and family support point of contact for installation mobilization exercises.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes the ARC soldier mobilization processing.
