Recreation Assistant

**Duties**:

- Works under general supervision of the Leisure Activities Manager.
- Accompanies guests during tours
- Gives detailed explanations and interpretations of tour features from the standpoint of historical development and historical background, introduction, and discussion of facts.
- Observes special or major interests demonstrated by tour groups or individuals; adapts discussion to meet the special interests, cultural and educational level of tour groups.
- Leads groups of visitors through historical sites and areas, gives explanation, identification and description of monuments, interpretation of German and especially Bavarian history.

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.

**Qualifications**:

- Must speak and write the English language sufficiently to communicate orally or in writing on matters pertaining to the assigned work. Spelling and grammar must be correct. A good working knowledge of the German language is highly desirable but not mandatory. Must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification within 6 months of hire.
