**Who are we?**

Technology services and support for business change and transformation activities in Cox Automotive (UK and EU) are provided by the business’s Enterprise Technology function.

Within this capability, the Enterprise Architecture team has a key role supporting business and product strategy development and then translating desired outcomes into operating models, roadmaps and deliverable business and technology solutions.

The EA team works closely with other Enterprise Technology teams such as Portfolio, Product, Delivery and Service. It also operates within the wider business areas in both a business & technology context and engages directly with suppliers and customers.

**Main purpose of the job**:
A strategic, internal & customer facing business & technology role providing strategy, consultancy, Enterprise Solutions design & transformation support to Operational Services, Product Teams and Sales teams within the UK.

Focused on technology architecture but also with a sound understanding of business architecture principles, the Enterprise Architect is a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, undertaking day to day management of Solution and Technology architecture whilst maintaining the relevant Operating Models.

The role has direct responsibility for promoting architecture and improving business wide technology engagement.

**Strategy**
- Captures and prioritises market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies.
- Leads, facilitates, supports & manages strategic planning activities (workshops, playback sessions, documentation)
- Develops strategic roadmaps to support technology, product, and wider business change activities.
- Supports Enterprise Technology Portfolio/Delivery teams in the translation of roadmaps into costed and prioritised deliverable plans.
- Actively drives best practice and best value in the use of technology at a strategic level. Acts as a trusted advisor on technology to multiple senior stakeholders including business the CIO, Product Owners, Business Unit leadership and C Level executives

**Enterprise Architecture**
- Leads the creation and review of a systems capability strategy that meets the business’s requirements.
- Has an active role in EA governance and design approval - Acts as an escalation point on technology design governance. Supports and promotes EA governance within Enterprise Technologies wider governance processes.
- Develops and presents business cases for high-level initiatives covering approval, funding, and prioritisation.
- Active encourages and promotes best practice around technology and business architecture.

**Solution Architecture**
- Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers.
- Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of Cox Automotive.
- Leads the selection of solution architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency.
- Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.
- Ensures that there is a business perspective on how any new technical capabilities will be integrated into the business, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for migration, etc.

**Consultancy**
- Provides consultancy style services (strategy definition, pre-sales support) & guidance to internal stakeholders and external customers covering a wide range of topics.
- Acting as an expert advisor and consultant in relation to the use of information technology within Cox Automotive

**Team Management**
- Provides coaching and mentoring to EA team members and wider (where required).

**Skills & Experience**:

- Significant experience in an enterprise architecture or a senior solutions architecture role, preferably in an automotive or retail environments.
- Demonstrable examples of enterprise transformation support including complex solutions design and delivery support.
- Practical experience on multi-£m change initiatives from target operating model through to implementation - end to end ownership of successful technology solutions with an individual value of up to £10m.
- Experience of shaping, influencing, and contributing to Technology and Business Strategy.
- Demonstrable experience of providing enterprise architecture (business and technology) to multiple senior stakeholders (C-Level/Board).
- An ability to combine business and technology solutions design to support transformational and business development activities.
- Expert analysis, technology design, business case and documentation skills - strong skills in the development of business cases to support transformational activities.
