Research on AutoML & Early Stopping in Hyperparameter

In our working group **»Data Efficient and Automated Learning (DEAL)«** within the Analytics Department of
Fraunhofer IIS in cooperation with the chair for Statistical Learning and Data Science (SLDS) at LMU at our Munich
Offices we are looking for a Student Assistant.

What you will do
- You collaborate on (code-based) research projects - usually with the goal of a publication: First project will be Early

Stopping for Hyperparameter Optimization (HPO) with Bayesian Optimization.
- You implement and verify the state-of-the-art for early stopping in HPO
- You study research papers related to Bayesian Optimization and HPO
- You explore and implement new methods during the course of the project
- You support in practical Machine Learning industry projects and administrative tasks

What you bring to the table
- You are currently studying computer science, mathematics, data science or a related field
- You already worked with python
- You have interest in current ML research, AutoML and black-box optimization
- You may have experience in Machine Learning frameworks (pytorch, scikit-learn )
- You have fundamental skills in Machine Learning and statistic
- You have excellent English or/and German skills
- You work independent and initiative

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement. You can start from now on (as a student assistant from **10** to **20** hours a week or as an intern for a period of at least three months). You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.
