As the **Head of Group Accounting**, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting and consolidation processes for our international group of companies. You will lead the group accounting function, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards while driving process optimization and automation. As a key leader within the finance team, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

**_ This is a hybrid position with three days per week in our Berlin office._**

**What You Will Do**
- Lead and manage the Group Accounting team, ensuring high-quality and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Oversee the group-wide accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP where applicable (HGB, US GAAP as relevant)
- Act as the key contact for external auditors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders on group accounting matters
- Enhance consolidation processes and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all subsidiaries
- Drive automation, standardization, and digitalization initiatives within the accounting and reporting function
- Monitor and implement changes in IFRS regulations, ensuring timely adoption and group-wide compliance
- Support the SVP of Finance in strategic financial planning, including financial risk assessment, M&A activities, and capital market reporting
- Collaborate with Treasury and FP&A teams to optimize cash management, loan accounting, and intercompany transactions
- Lead and mentor the group accounting team (3 direct reports), fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence

**What You Will Bring**
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, with a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Big-Four experience (audit experience) is a plus
- Prior experience in leading and developing a team, with strong stakeholder management skills
- Expert knowledge of IFRS (HGB knowledge is a plus)
- High proficiency in financial software (e.g. LucaNet) and ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite) is a plus
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Excel skills and a strong analytical mindset
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
- Hands-on mentality, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
