**The Position**:
This position is part time eligible with 80%.

**Tasks & responsibilities**:

- Within our Discovery Sciences Technologies Group, you will be responsible for the quantification of therapeutic proteins (e.g. antibodies) and their endogenous targets from in vitro and in vivo experiments. For this, you will develop and perform customized assays in a technology-agnostic manner making use of state-of-the-art mass spectrometers as well as immunoassay solutions.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally, to advance drug discovery projects as a bioanalysis representative. With your creativity and scientific expertise, you will address project needs and, by this, contribute to enable milestone transitions.
- Beyond, you will closely work with other protein research functions by providing expertise in mass spectrometry-based protein analysis (e.g. intact mass measurements, protein identifications by LC-MS/MS) to enable the supply of high quality proteins for research purposes.
- Due to your scientific curiosity, you will stay up to date with the latest advancements in bioanalysis of proteins and mass spectrometry research.
- You will represent Boehringer Ingelheim's innovative capacities in the field of drug discovery by contributing with scientific publications and conference presentations. Moreover, you will take a Lead role as early and late-stage DDS representative in NBE projects and provide substantial scientific input to advance our assets.

**Requirements**:

- Master’s or Diploma degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology) with several years of professional experience in protein analysis with profound expertise in protein biochemistry, Doctoral degree is desirable
- Several years of professional experience as a Scientist with hands-on experience in protein analysis by mass spectrometry and/or ligand binding-based protein quantification.
- Familiarity with drug discovery, development, and translational processes
- Understanding of the basic pharmacokinetic principles of therapeutic proteins is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills as well as outstanding skills in communicating experimental data efficiently across interdisciplinary functions
- Ability to work independently and a strong commitment to deliver results reliably in time to meet project deadlines Willingness to work as part in a highly motivated and skilled team with the intention to achieve Boehringer Ingelheim’s research goals
