(Senior) Principal Scientist Research Data

**THE POSITION**:
We are part of our Discovery Research area within our Innovation Unit. Through In Silico methods combined with disease biology we want to increase human disease insights.
Our ultimate goal is to drive faster and improved decision making in order to identify impactful first-in-class therapies for our patients
**Tasks & responsibilities**:
- In your new role you will take over ownership of Boehringer Ingelheim’s compound data base (CDB), a core element of our R&D data infrastructure.- You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across all functions in Discovery Research to identify strategic needs and priorities for capturing and accessing decision-relevant data for drug discovery projects, with an initial focus on small molecule research.- You will be responsible for developing a roadmap for enhancements and working with IT partners and domain experts to ensure the implementation of prioritized demands.- By interacting closely with the user community, you will identify day-to-day requirements and prioritize the IT team’s implementation activities in alignment with the overall roadmap and strategic needs.
**Additional tasks and responsibilities as Senior Principal Scientist**- In addition to the above, you will drive data quality standards in alignment with data generating functions and ensure their implementation in context of the CDB.- In collaboration with strategic initiatives across Research and pre-clinical Development you will proactively contribute to the implementation of FAIR data cross domains.
**Requirements**:
- PhD in chemistry, pharmacy, bioinformatics, computer sciences or a related field, preferably with experience in cheminformatics- Experience in multidisciplinary pharma R&D- Experience in leading projects- Excellent communication and moderation skills (written and spoken) in English
**Additional requirements as Senior Principal Scientist**- Multiple years’ experience in leading projects at the intersection of R&D and IT- Profound understanding of and experience with data management incl. data quality standards
