Discovery Life Sciences is a trusted provider of Biospecimen Services, Genomics, Tissue Biomarker Services (TBS) and Cell and Gene Therapy materials to hundreds of customers across the U.S. and around the world. The Sales Specialist for Cell and Gene therapy contributes to our mission by consistently developing and closing new and repeat business from customer and prospect accounts in an assigned Region and providing technical expertise in support of the sale to Area Account Managers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all legal, regulatory, quality, and sales-related documents are created, negotiated, and executed to support cellular starting materials opportunities
- Develop, work, and win large and highly complex Tissue Biomarker and Genomics services opportunities in assigned DLS territory
- Coordinate large, strategic meetings between customer’s senior scientific leadership and appropriate Company leadership to win large-scale projects with substantial revenue potential
- Present and help evaluate the workability of client projects with Discovery Life Sciences business Unit, Project Managers, Feasibility team, Scientific leadership team, and internal and external collaborators
- Productively manage an opportunity pipeline (30+ open opportunities) and Feasibility case queue with updated next steps and feedback from customers
- Consistently advance calls and win business by setting clear next steps and properly executing them
- Use logic, reason, and scientific acumen to close deals instead of relying on discounts
- Work cooperatively with inside sales support professionals, Account Managers, fellow BD Managers, Marketing, and Feasibility to maximize sales success in assigned territory
- Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operations
- Draft and present SOW’s, MSA’s and contribute to the RFP process
- Conduct advanced training on IHC and Genomics product offerings to promote cross team prospecting to junior members of the sales team

**Education and/or Experience Requirements**:

- 5+ years of Life Sciences sales and/or management experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required; MS, MBA or PhD is preferred
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with clients and potential clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Formal sales training preferred (Miller Heiman, PSS, Spin)
- Team-first attitude and passion to achieve Commercial Team and company-wide goals
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to respond to customer needs
- Travel may be up to 40%
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

This job is performed primarily in an office environment, with regular travel to customer locations. The majority of the workday is spent either sitting or standing. Duties require the ability to communicate clearly with internal or external contacts, either verbally or in writing.
