**Internship in Peptide Chemistry (all genders)**

**We are a dynamic, motivated and diverse team and are looking for a bright, energetic student to join our team. The Peptide Discovery Lab (PDL) aims to develop new, innovative peptide-based therapeutics and tools. For this purpose, we use several technologies that we constantly develop further: structure-based design, various screening methods for lead generation (internal and external), automation & digitization of the peptideplatform, computational design/modeling, bioconjugation & classical medicinal chemistry. We collaborate closely across Bayer Research & Development as well as with external partners to develop new therapies for patients.**

**YOUR TASKS AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES**
- Design and synthesis of complex peptides, peptide conjugates, glycopeptides and/or peptidomimetics on solid support or in solution
- Develop and optimize synthetic methodology in peptide chemistry to benefit ongoing and future projects
- Support our lab automation by establishing and optimizing workflows

**WHO YOU ARE**
- You are a currently enrolled passionate scientist close to completing a master’s degree or in a gap year prior to starting a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline
- You are motivated, driven, curious and have a keen interest in broadening your scientific knowledge
- Ideally, you have knowledge and hands-on experience in peptide synthesis and have further experience in at least one additional field, such as:

- Design and synthesis of peptide conjugates, glycopeptides or peptidomimetics
- Organic synthesis
- Screening technologies such as phage display or mRNA display
- (LC)MS or proteomics
- You possess good communication skills and are quick in finding your place in new environments
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is a plus
