Director Hype Merchandising Planning

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
- Partner with the Senior Director to deliver the global merchandising strategy and roadmap for Hype. Ensuring development of Hype range architecture based on range guidance from the central Merchandising team. Including Range Roadmap and Range Architecture.
Execute & align on shared goals and strategies for growth between market partners, product, design, marketing, digital and strategy, and planning teammates.- Key Responsibilities:
- Merchandising:
- Deliver seasonal product journeys, franchise deliverables, pricing, flow, lifecycle management, branding across the category that aligns with the range plan strategy
- Partner closely with the product creation teams (Product Marketing, Design, and Development) to form “the quad” who together create short and long-term product strategies
- Build the range architecture and assortment framework (RA2) against the range targets, including integration of special market requests based on guidance from the central Merchandising team
- Partner on seasonal briefs to product teams. Prepare the detailed range architecture plan including model & article level detail
- Reinforce merchandising fundamentals through the creation of the range plan; segmentation and strategy
- Aggregate key market insights. Look for key global and regional trends and shifts in market direction to inform category product decisions that maximize commercial opportunities for the brand
- Build consumer centric gtm & assortment plans with an understanding of the Hype layer positioning in the market, blending fact based and intuitive inputs
- Partner on DTC first approach to ensure necessary differentiation among channels and key accounts
- Partner to organize assortment feedback to ensure excellent and regular connection with global markets
- Participate in updates to markets on BU range strategy (quantitative and qualitative) covering decisions to meet / not meet gaps identified by markets
- Help to build a comprehensive category handover in partnership with cross functional partners to enable/facilitate markets understanding and implementation of the go to market strategy
- Ensure that the team is building to the seasonal financial & strategic gtm plans of the business across all markets and channels.
- Be a key partner on end-to-end (global to markets) range plan, assortment strategy, and go-to-market to drive growth targets, and strong sell-thru.
- Define, communicate, present and adjust the seasonal strategy and architecture plan along the creation milestones process.
- Communicate an understanding of the consumer, markets, and business to adidas in a way that accelerates what is possible from a product, assortment, and distribution standpoint.
- Contribute in defining and establishing KPI’s, processes and tools to monitor range development through Hype.
- Owning the Segmentation and development of global volume allocations for each market and channel based on range and GTM planning.
- Partner on communicating goals, clarity, and focus and galvanize team to execute a strategy that will achieve these goals
- Lead through ambiguity and uncertainty. Adapt nimbly to changing priorities and lead others through complex situations.
- GTM PLANNING:
- Partner closely with activation teams (brand communications, digital teams, culture marketing) to ensure an impactful x-functional gtm planning to land concepts with excellence in order to create the most connected brand in culture
- Build a holistic Hype framework to support Hype planning and process both from a range architecture, franchise and go-to-market planning perspective
- Contribute towards building a strong overarching Hype activation calendar, driving a strategic launch cadence to win the consumer, while supporting the category strategy, objectives & market requirements
- drive the Hype business end-to-end across concept creation to landing / monitoring sell-in and sell-out, and executing holistic concept readiness for Hype projects
- drive the hype concepts to connect the Brand with culture and scale franchise heat by Articulating the Brand priorities (incl. link to key franchises) and seasonal go-to-market plan to ensure Hype to scale the Bran
- Drive end-to-end collaboration with BU teams to develop comprehensive Hype plans reflecting story x product x availability
- Help to build a comprehensive category handover in partnership with cross functional partners to enable/facilitate markets understanding and implementation of the go to market strategy
- Create useful tools to excite and educate markets, channels, and customers, to successfully land seasonal concepts
- Translate global brand strategy into actionable go-to-market plans encompassing different parts of the Hype ecosystem
