Carbon and Energy Intern

**The role**:
As an Energy & Carbon Intern you will be part of the International Sustainability Team and be responsible for supporting carbon and energy measurement and reduction projects across all HelloFresh’s international operations. We are looking for ambitious, analytical profiles who have great international skills to support the advancement of our carbon & energy innovation workstreams including; our Science Based Target Commitment, our Global Solar Energy program as well as our Energy efficiency audit initiatives.

**What you’ll do**:

- Support HelloFresh’s Science Based Target Commitment
- Supporting carbon data and evidence collection throughout HelloFresh’s International operations
- Carbon accounting, target settings and reduction measures
- Extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data for drawing actionable insights for our Sustainability team
- Researching climate smart solutions and best practices
- Contributing to the creation of presentations for senior stakeholders
- Documenting & organizing HelloFresh Sustainability’s knowledge capture efforts
- Opportunity to work with stakeholders from up to 19 different countries around the globe to collect data and understand critical pain-points

**What you’ll bring**:

- Master’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Science, Business Management or a related technical field (e.g. Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science)
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, ISO 14067) and related frameworks and reporting standards (SBTi, CDP, TCFD, etc.)
- Experience working in sustainability area preferably experience in calculating, interpreting, and advising on corporate carbon footprints, target settings and reduction measures is a plus
- Knowledge of environmental impact tracking, ISO50001 Energy Management System, renewable energy solutions
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage priorities simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non technical individuals
- You are a team player and thrive in a large international and diverse team
- Strong written and verbal english communication skills
- Work experience in food, sustainability, and/or environmental research is a plus
- You are available as soon as possible for at least 6 months for 40 hours per week.
- German work permit; unfortunately, we cannot sponsor a visa for this position
- Fluency in English is required additional language skills are a plus.
