**About the role**

As a BD Specialist at Latham, you will work very closely with an engaged community of partners and attorneys, as well as supportive and knowledgeable German and global BD colleagues to develop and implement commercially effective, BD strategies for the corporate practice.

Leveraging Latham’s considerable strategic resources will allow you to establish your network and build rapport with partners in person, across our 4 German offices. Working across Private Equity and M&A practices and industries including Tech, Healthcare and Energy & Infrastructure, the BD Specialist will play a significant role in supporting the day to day business development needs of the practices as well as contributing new and innovative ways to promote the corporate department. Working closely with the German BD team, and colleagues from across the globe, this role involves:

- Working with the New Business Team who lead on the production of pitch books, presentations and responses to RFI’s and RFP’s to produce compelling materials that help us win new business and drive practice growth
- Coordinating and supporting the development of client-facing presentations and other marketing material
- Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships in close collaboration with the internal research team
- Supporting on drafting submissions for legal directories and related industry guides
- Working with the events team to organize market-leading events such as panel/speaking engagement opportunities, seminars, receptions, thought leadership dinners, etc.
- Collaborating with other regional and global colleagues to access their expertise and support, ranging from brand and communications, e-marketing to knowledge management and others to i.e. strengthen our brand, producing client alerts or enable various BD processes.

**About you**

- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to clients, understanding their needs and decision making processes
- Have experience of taking either a professional services or law firm to market
- Are self-sufficient, proactive and have the ability to build effective commercial partnerships with colleagues across the firm and at a range of levels
- Possess excellent attention to detail for all projects as well as the ability to keep sight of the big picture as the common end-goal

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a highly collaborative team
- An intellectual curiosity and growth mindset
- Proven track record of building credibility quickly and ability to manage upwards
- Professional English and German, written and spoken
