Position Summary

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Controlling regional network build: manage the regional build partner and reginal build managers to ensure all targets are met or exceeded and the works are carried out in time to cost and with top class quality.
  • Supporting opportunity planning: support upfront opportunity planning to ensure delivery of optimal deployment roadmap
  • Ensure that there is an agreed project plan in place with the regional build partner to deliver the required homes passed
  • Responsible for ensuring all build activities are completed as per the agreed project plan to meet and exceed the homes passed delivery targets required to deliver the programme
  • Promote trust based relationships with the regional local authority and manage expectations on a day-to-day basis
  • Review, forecast and monitor materials for the region ensuring the delivery partner has all necessary kit to deliver
  • Coordinate with the design team to evaluate risks to ensure the required throughput of design is met to deliver the required homes passed target
  • Ensure employees and partners adhere to industry laws and regulations
  • Analyse CPP deviations from design to build to identify optimisation opportunities and promote improvement plans
  • Control the regional delivery budget to ensure all costs and deviations are recorded and reported to the programme, including reporting in a timely manner
  • Report on all areas of the regional build and ensure homes are delivered in line with programme requirements
  • Ensure all necessary health and safety documentation is in place to ensure compliance when starting a build area
  • Identify, management and communicate all risks and issues associated with build activities to the Network Build Lead
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in the delivery and scaling of FTTH network delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams on solutions to ensure the optimum delivery model is developed
  • Essential Skills & Abilities
  • Deep network build expertise, managing large scale fibre and civils build roll out programmes working with external civils and fibre partners
  • Advanced knowledge of FTTH networks, including a good technical understanding of supporting technologies i.e. GPON, XGSPON
  • Proven record of developing and managing civils and fibre project delivery plans
  • Experience in managing field delivery partners through delivery processes.
  • Strong understanding in the build financial processes including budget process
  • Understanding of NRSWA and HAUC standards and specifications
  • In depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
  • An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations
