About Global Cash Sales (Payments & Cash Management Specialist)

The Global Cash Sales Team is responsible for the positioning and sale of Payment & Cash Management Solutions to corporate and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) clients across the Barclays Corporate Bank globally. Located in key geographies, UK, Europe, US & Asia. The team operates across a wide range of cash management services, including global payments, collections, liquidity solutions, FX and Digital Product offerings. The team delivers leading edge advice through the sale of complex cash management and liquidity solutions.

About Payments & Cash Management in Europe

Expanding our European Proposition to offer our clients complex cash management, liquidity and global payment solutions in Europe is one of the key pillars of Barclays Corporate strategy. In the past five years Barclays has successfully launched a single Banking platform to support the European expansion strategy, opening branches in Frankfurt, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Belgium providing our customers the basis of efficient cash management arrangements across Western Europe.

Overall purpose of role

The main purpose of the role is to support the growth ambition of the European Payments & Cash Management (PCM) business by developing & driving the delivery of a market lending joined up sales and product strategy for the German and Luxembourg PCM portfolio. The individual will be expected to structure global payments and cash management solutions and deliver leading edge advice through the sale of complex payments, cash management and liquidity solutions. Additionally, the role will be responsible for the management of the local German PCM team.

Aligned to the overall European PCM strategy, this role will champion the following activity:

- Lead the German PCM team to drive cross-border business development across corporates and non-financial institutions (NBFIs) globally. Delivering leading edge cash management advice through the sale of complex cash management and liquidity solutions including currency clearing solutions and global payments.
- Play an integral part in achieving the overall Cash income plan for Germany & Luxembourg through the acquisition of new business in the cash arena and protecting income lines from potential competitor threat.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships with valuable key names through effective client planning, to ensure Barclays earnings are maximised from the Cash Management Products. Develop potential new banking business, which will require tailored and competitive pricing, and bespoke integration with our customer’s internal systems, with a view to presenting to and influencing larger business customers both at board and operational levels.
- Provide introductions to treasury colleagues, as well as other group partners in order to maximise group revenue as a whole.
- Assist in developing innovative Cash Management solutions for the industry sectors by working closely with our product team.
- Assist in driving the Cash Management message across the bank internally as well as externally.
- Initiate and lead the education process to coach and upskill direct reports and team members along with maintaining a network to retain and attract talent into the Cash Sales Specialist arena.
