(Position number: 36-2025 SHK GENIE)starting in January 2026.The position **is funded for** **up to 16 months**. The remuneration is determined according to the guidelines of the TdL. The current hourly rate for a student assistant with a Bachelor's degree is 14,59 € (without a Bachelor's degree 13,98 €). We offer 2 to 4 part-time position with a weekly working time of 10 to 20 hours per week. Appointment is conditional on approval by the funding agency.**Key responsibilities**:
Assist researchers in the project on their analyses of carbon removal and climate mitigation policies, innovation, and public perceptions in particular, this includes:
- support the production of systematic literature maps and reviews through data collection and synthesis
- annotating datasets for the evaluation of machine-learning classifiers
- creating data visualizations for scientific publications
- supporting the writing of publications and reports.
**You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ideally meet the following requirements**:
- background in environmental science, geography, economics, computer science, quantitative social or political science, physics, ecology or related fields
- knowledge of climate research
- ability to solve problems in a scientific context using data
- Strong coding skills for data analysis and visualization (for instance in python) are an asset.
- Previous experience in carbon removal, climate policy assessment, innovation studies, evidence synthesis or bibliometrics is an asset.
