Recreation Assistant Nf-03

**Duties**:

- Issues/receives recreational equipment to authorized users. Collects applicable fees for items issued, accounts for monies, safeguards funds and makes daily deposits. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.
- Sets up recreational areas for sporting events, serving as an official as required. Instruct customers in the proper use of equipment and programs within area of responsibility.
- Helps plan, conduct, publicize, and arrange support for a variety of sponsored special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. Assist in the planning/establishing of objectives and goals for the facility.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior work experience in a Military Fitness and/or Community center planning, organizing, advertising or setting up recreational sports activities, family special events or fun runs in a fitness center or community recreation center.- Qualifying examples of work experience may be:_
- Aid or assistant in the organization and administration of recreation activities, such as preparing activities calendars, maintaining attendance records, and providing information concerning schedules and activities.
- Sales or stock clerk in a recreation supplies and equipment shop.
- Aid or assistant in the issuance of authorized property, and in the maintenance of inventory control and accountability for such property in a recreation facility.
- Aid or assistant in a hotel or resort recreation service, with duties such as setting up areas for games, tournaments, and other organized group recreational activities.

**Highly preferred criteria**:
Possess experience which demonstrates proficiency and ability to create charts and presentations using MS Office produces to include: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.

**Education**:
**SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION**:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in courses related to recreation or physical education.
