Research Assistant (f/m/d)

IVP - Ion Channels

Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Develop, optimize, and execute electrophysiological automated patch-clamp assays using cell lines and primary cells to characterize the pharmacology of compounds
- Independently design and execute experiments and analyze the results with high attention to detail and quality criteria
- Report data to the project teams, and diligently record experiments in the Electronic Notebook platform in a timely manner
- Work simultaneously on multiple projects, within multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization environment
- Take a proactively part in the management of laboratory spaces and instrumentation
- Contribute to the development of relevant new technologies within the group

Your ideal qualifications:

- Successfully completed apprenticeship (BTA/CTA/MTA) or bachelor studies in the field of biological sciences or related disciplines
- Experience in cell culturing of recombinant and primary cells is required
- Previous hands-on experience in in vitro electrophysiology (manual and/or automated patch clamp platforms) or plate based cellular assays in an academic or in a pharmaceutical environment would be a plus
- Experience in pharmacological data analysis with specialized software such as GraphPad Prism (or similar) is needed
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work efficiently under pressure with a high degree of independence, and yet with excellent team spirit
- Good oral and written communication skills in English. German would be an advantage
