Together.** The "Explainable Artificial Intelligence" (XAI) group focuses on the development of powerful methods, and the analysis of aspects of interpretability and explainability in machine learning. A core research of the group is the intersection of explainability, fairness and robustness of machine learning models. Become a part of our team and join us on our journey of research and innovation **What you will do** - Use of XAI-tools for explaining machine learning models - Improve models in terms of efficiency, training performance, or inference behavior - Implementation of Deep Learning, predominantly in Pytorch **What you bring to the table** - Very good Python skills; experience with C++ is an advantage - Good knowledge of machine learning - First experience with training neural networks (Pytorch, Tensorflow) - Experience with frameworks for reinforcement learning (e.g. gym) is an advantage, but not necessary - Interest in explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) **What you can expect** - The ability to work on exciting and highly relevant research topics in the field of XAI. - A highly motivated, international team and excellent hardware and computing infrastructure. - Collaboration with international experts in machine learning and participation in activities of these groups at international conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, etc. - The opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge XAI research in high-profile research projects. - Freedom and encouragement to discuss and pursue own research ideas, with the benefit of guidance and advice from experienced researchers and leading experts in the field. - The opportunity to write and publish research work under one's own name and/or to write a thesis. - Fascinating challenges in a scientific and entrepreneurial setting - Attractive salary - Modern and excellently equipped workspace in central location - Great and cooperative working atmosphere in an international team - Flexible working hours - Opportunities to work from home The position is initially limited to 6 months.
