**Accountant** JOB SUMMARY**
The Accountant provides all accounting and complementary transactions for the German legal entity located in Essen. The Accountant is a team-player working within a small group of employees in the German company and who is at the same time part of a group of international employees within the Core Lab group of companies worldwide. Accounting is not only related to the German company, but also reporting for inclusion in consolidated group accounts, in an international setting with tight deadlines.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following, other duties may be assigned:

- Ensuring proper processing of transactions in the Oracle modules in conformity with appropriate requirements in both German GAAP and US GAAP.
- Set up and processing transactions of general ledger, vendor and customer accounting, data processing of vendor invoices, processing bank transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors, as well as performing verification and analysis of balances.
- Oversight and instruction of an accounting assistant who is to perform parts of the processing of transactions.
- The development and presentation of financial statements for Governmental agencies, tax, management and outside auditors, submitting various tax filings timely and accurately.
- Generating payroll transactions for payroll processing to our processing partner.
- Bring forward improvements in processes or procedures if and when identified.
- Special projects as needed.
- Available to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
- University level of accounting education
- at least two years relevant experience

**OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Accuracy and integrity
- Critical mind and a flexible and pro-active attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft office / Excel
- Ability to work in both German and English would be an advantage.
- Experience with Oracle/ERP within a multinational company would be an advantage
