**Senior Data Management Scientist (M/F/d)**

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Own and drive bioscience reference master data information domains for cross-functional reference data standards (e.g. organisms, crops, crop groups and derived commodities)
- Support biological data integration e.g., of genomics, traits, species, via algorithm / data model design and implementation
- Lead master data resolution project teams to develop, maintain data dictionary in business critical fields of Bayer Crop Science
- Lead discussions across Regulatory business functions, lines of business, countries/hubs to identify key master data for a more efficient Bayer Crop Science product development pipelines
- Oversee, define, and implement master data aspects within strategic information management projects, and drive the associated change management
- Train data stewards in data management workflows and use of relevant
data editing tools
- Develop an in-depth understanding and create link for BCS R&D Regulatory Science to cutting edge data management concepts in the external world e.g., related to master data ontologies
- Align with the Crop Science and Bayer group strategy e.g., directive “Management of Master Data”

**WHO YOU ARE**
- University degree in natural sciences and several years of experience in comparable positions
- Detailed understanding of life science R&D processes, also cross technologies
- Experience with biological data integration (e.g., genomics, traits, species)
- Good understanding of public resources (e.g., Gene Ontology, Plant Ontology, Traits Ontology)
- Several years of experience in the field of data management including master data & data stewardship concepts expertise
- Excellent capacity to analyze processes and to develop concepts; strong ability to structure and de-complex
- Competency and willingness to challenge existing models/processes
- Very good ability to work in teams including excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English

The position can either be filled in Germany or in the US.
