We're offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Master's student to lead a deep-dive research project on **"Enhancing IP Geolocation Accuracy with Hybrid Techniques" in cooperation with your university (full or part time).** **Thesis Overview**: **Your future challenges**: - Analyze and Evaluate Multiple Approaches: Research key methodologies, including: - Passive traffic analysis (e.g., server logs, client-side geolocation data) - Active network probing and latency testing (e.g., traceroute, RTT measurements) - ISP and carrier data integration (direct IP block allocation data) - Whois and BGP routing data analysis (AS and IP allocation tracking) - DNS-based geolocation (e.g., resolver analysis, EDNS Client Subnet) - Quantify and Compare Accuracy: Use real-world traffic from globally distributed data centers to test and measure the accuracy of these methods. Assess accuracy across different network conditions (e.g., mobile, broadband, dynamic IPs, CDNs). - Develop a Multi-Method Accuracy Model: Investigate the effectiveness of data fusion—combining multiple methods and datasets to create a comprehensive and highly accurate geolocation service. - Automate Data Processing Pipelines: Implement systems to collect, clean, and fuse geolocation data in real time, ensuring efficient handling of large datasets. **Your Skills**: - A strong technical background in **network engineering**,** **computer science**, or **data science**. - Solid understanding of **IP networking**, **latency analysis**, or **large-scale data processing**. - Interest in **algorithmic approaches** to improving data accuracy and **data fusion techniques**. - Experience with **Python**, **networking tools** (e.g., Wireshark, Traceroute), or **data processing frameworks** is a plus. **We are Link11**: - We live our startup mentality at heart.
