Drug induced hepatotoxicity is a major reason for non-approval and post-marketing withdrawal of pharmaceuticals. Often, preclinical models are not suitable to predict hepatic damage in humans. Here, especially the integration of the human immune system effects are a vital concern. In the Master’s thesis, novel immunocompetent hepatotoxicity tests systems will be validated and tested for their predictive capacity to detect immune-mediated hepatotoxic effects of the immune checkpoint inhibitor anti-PD-L1.

**What you will do**

Master’s thesis : Validation of immunocompetent hepatotoxicity test systems

In the context of your Master´s thesis you will
- Perform literature search on immune-mediated hepatotoxicity.
- Plan and conduct experiments in the laboratory (cell culture of cell lines and primary cells, flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays).
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Regularly present your data.
- Aid to gain a deeper understanding of immune-mediated hepatotoxic effects of the immune checkpoint inhibitor anti-PD-L1

**What you bring to the table**
- Good basic knowledge in molecular biology and biochemistry methods
- Good basic knowledge in (primary) cell culture
- Interested to obtain more insights into immune response and toxicity mechanisms
- Fluency in spoken and written English or German is required
- MS Office usage
