For permanent employment OHB SE in Bremen is looking for aNetwork Engineer – Space Communications (m/f/d) Your Tasks Role Purpose:Responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing network architectures for communication between space assets to ensure secure, resilient, and high-performance data transmission.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign network architectures for space (ISLs, user access, feeder links)Define and implement routing protocols (DTN, IP over space links, autonomous routing)Integrate the space network, including management and control functionsCollaborate with engineers to embed network capabilities into spacecraft systemsOptimize network performance (latency, bandwidth, orbital dynamics)Support simulation and validation of network behavior in mission scenariosCoordinate subcontractors and oversee technical requirementsContribute to innovative R&D initiatives in space communication Your QualificationsMaster’s or PhD in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in network engineering, ideally in space communicationsExpertise in space communication protocols, DTN, and IP networking in spaceExperience with satellite constellations and onboard network integrationFamiliarity with network simulation tools (, ns-3, OPNET) and Linux-based systemsUnderstanding of cybersecurity in space systems and secure communication protocolsExcellent communication skills and team leadership experienceCisco or Juniper certifications a plus We offer Work Life Balance: Flexible working hours, sabbatical, 30 days vacation & special leave days Mobile Work: Hybrid work & mobile work abroad Structured on-boarding process (incl.
