Then join our journey and be part of the team leading the New Space movement in Europe Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg is looking for aPropulsion Development Engineer (m/f/d) Our international and agile team is searching for a development engineer (f/m/d) for next gen engine development. Your Tasks Support the development of new propulsion designs based on real test dataCreate design specs for engine development (pressure cascade, performance numbers, etc.)Understand the basics of turbomachinery, valve, thrust chamber and injector designUse various testing, analysis, modelling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performanceInterpret simulation results and incorporate learnings into CAD (Thermal, Structural, Flow, etc.)Perform design, analysis and development engineering tasks for various propulsion systems Own CAD of next gen enginesCreate test plans for powerpack and engine testing and analyse test resultsInitiate and foster production of enginesCreation of medium to long term timelines for development of the engine’s subsystems Your QualificationsDegree in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering or related discipline 2+ years work experience in space propulsion systemsDemonstrated proficiency in the basic principles of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, and pressurized componentsSome experienced in the design of Turbomachinery, Injectors and Thrust ChambersExperienced in testing of bipropellant liquid enginesExperienced in interpreting P&IDs and a strong understanding of pressurized systemsExcellent knowledge of physics, engineering materials and manufacturing processesExperienced in RPA, and CoolpropExperience with Siemens NX and Rocketisp is a plus Hands-on workshop experience is beneficialFluent English oral and written (all day-to-day activities are performed in English) Self-independent, a structured way of working and committed to working in a fast-paced environment We offer Atmosphere: Experience life in an international & dynamic New Space start-up Flexibility: Fit your working schedule to your needs with flexible working hours Home Office: Full-time employees benefit from 1 day per week home office Health: Sweat, stretch or squat it out with WellPass, a training app which connects you to thousands of gyms and studios Paid Time Off: 30 days annual leave and special leave days RFA Family: Join our regular company and team events and become part of the RFA family Parking: Free parking for your car and your bike This is the perfect opportunity to take on an exciting new challenge and be part of the leading private company in the new European space race.
